In case you haven’t noticed, it’s hot as Egypt out there. One cannot help but wonder how much better off the Israelites would have been if they had some nice white wines for those hot summer evenings…
Lucky for you we’ve found a few choices to give you a brief respite from the heat, and they are all under $20. Who doesn’t love a good deal? Right?
While none of these wines are kosher, nor are there Jewish connections, this distinguished list was prepared by two Jewish wine enthusiasts:
Stump Jump White – mulberry with a hint of pomegranate, underlying fruit with a subtle layer of plum stone, star anise and cinnamon
Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc – currant and gooseberry flavors, clean dry finish
Chateau St. Michelle Riesling – bright passion fruit, sweet lime, ripe pear and melon
Poets Leap Riesling – fresh peeled grapefruit, an appealing minerality and a hint of ripe pear
Whitehall Lane Sauvignon Blanc – refreshing flavors of lemon and grapefruit with a long invigorating finish
Foxglove Chardonnay – Tropical fruit, honeysuckle, and orange blossom notes with medium-bodied texture
